This past April, I attended the Spark Retreat Photography Workshop, hosted by Caitlin and Luke Photography and Rachael Schirano Photography. The experience was incredible! We focused on ways to improve our photography businesses, and I had valuable one-on-one time with both photography teams to ask questions and get feedback.
I also had the chance to review my portfolio and talk about how to reach the right clients. The Spark Retreat gave me space to reflect, plan, and reenergize—and I left feeling more focused than ever.
The highlight of the retreat? The two styled shoots! One featured a beautiful engagement session, and the other was a romantic wedding-inspired shoot with a bride and groom (I’ll be sharing those images soon!).
Styled shoots are such a great way to practice posing, test out new techniques, and refine how I serve my couples. I always walk away inspired—and this time was no exception.
The couple featured in the engagement session, Eric and Mallory, made everything so fun. They were relaxed, joyful, and completely in love. Their energy made our jobs easy! Having Caitlin, Luke, and Rachael on-site also gave us a chance to ask questions in real time and try new posing ideas with expert feedback.
If you’re planning your own engagement session, this shoot is full of outfit ideas and inspiration. More importantly, it’s a reminder that these photos are all about capturing your story. No two sessions will look the same, but I promise your love will shine through.
This retreat reminded me why I love engagement sessions so much. They’re fun, relaxed, and full of real connection. That’s what I’m here to capture. Scroll down to see some of my favorite portraits from the Spark Retreat!
