This past April, I had the chance to attend the Spark Retreat Photography Workshop hosted by Caitlin and Luke Photography and Rachael Schirano Photography. The workshop was incredible – it focused on various ways to better run my business, as well as time one-on-one with both photography teams to discuss any questions I had! There was also a chance to review my portfolio and talk about how to keep my business moving forward and reaching the right people. The best part about the workshop was definitely the two styled shoots! One was an engagement session and the other, a bride and groom (which I’ll be sharing on the blog later!).
Styled shoots are a great chance to practice posing and review how I can better serve my incredible clients during their own sessions! The sweet couple that was at the styled shoot, Eric and Mallory, were so much fun. They were so relaxed and made our jobs easy! Having Caitlin, Luke, and Rachael there for questions also helped all of us attendees feel ready to go and gave us a chance to try new posing and lighting. I definitely encourage my clients to take a peek at this blog for outfit inspiration – and also as a reminder that these photos are a chance to capture your relationship. No two sessions will look a like, but your story will be told. That I promise you! The Spark Retreat allowed me to take a step back and remember to focus on what I love and what means the most – engagement sessions are definitely in that category! Here’s a few of my favorite portraits from the Spark Retreat!
