Abby and Erik are married! Their beautiful Old Hickory Golf Club wedding day was so much fun to photograph. The entire day, it was so obvious that these two are meant to be. You might remember them from their Forest Park engagement session, where I shared more of their love story. But, Abby and Erik met while they were in high school. Although they went to separate schools initially, they met because Abby joined Erik’s theatre department. The two of them went on to Truman State University together. Erik graduated the year before Abby and through it all, they were there for each other – supporting and loving each other. And now they’re married!!!

When Abby began to plan her wedding, she turned back to a childhood dream that both she and her sister had of being married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Florissant. I don’t blame her at all! It’s absolutely gorgeous. That’s where Abby and Erik decided to tie the knot! Before the ceremony, they met for a private first look and it was SO romantic. I love when couples have the chance to slow down and enjoy a few minutes together before their wedding day takes off. The church’s grounds were stunning and worked perfectly for both their bride and groom portraits as well as their photos with their wedding party.

Afterwards, we headed over to Old Hickory Golf Club for their reception! Abby and Erik truly love their family and friends and their reception made that clear! During the reception they played the song “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” as a tribute to Abby’s parents who played this song during their wedding and renewal of their vows for their 25th anniversary in Hawaii. It was SO special for Abby and her family!! Among all of the tender moments of the night, their guests just had a great time getting out on the floor and celebrating the newlyweds. I’m so happy to see these celebrations coming back for my couples. Everyone definitely missed them!!
